ACS was founded to connect and develop progressive attorneys and law students around America.

 

 

We believe:

  • In the rule of law

  • That the law should promote the equality, dignity, and freedom of every person

  • That the American legal system can be a powerful tool for justice, which lawyers and law students have a responsibility to leverage

Timur Akman-Duffy | Programming   Timur Akman-Duffy is a member of the programming committee. A graduate of the University of Chicago, he worked as a high school teacher and administrator in New Orleans for seven years before attending Yale Law School.

Alex Boudreau | Programming   Alex is a 2L from Asheville, North Carolina. When not planning exciting YLS programming, he can be found helping out with the YLS Rule of Law Clinic or hanging out with his corgi, Sherman.

Jenny Choi | President   Jenny Choi is a 2L from Queens, NY. Aside from her involvement in ACS, Jenny serves on the board of Yale APALSA, and is a member of the San Francisco Affirmative Litigation Project. Before coming to law school, she worked as a voting rights organizer for the 2016 election at a national civil rights organization, and studied for a masters degree in intellectual history. In her free time, she loves exploring the outdoors and appreciating good music. She looks forward to an exciting year ahead with Yale ACS!

Jenny Choi is a 2L from Queens, NY. Aside from her involvement in ACS, Jenny serves on the board of Yale APALSA, and is a member of the San Francisco Affirmative Litigation Project. Before coming to law school, she worked as a voting rights organizer for the 2016 election at a national civil rights organization, and studied for a masters degree in intellectual history. In her free time, she loves exploring the outdoors and appreciating good music. She looks forward to an exciting year ahead with Yale ACS!

As a member of the programming team, Hilary is excited to bring progressive speakers to campus and to help create a community of progressive students at YLS. Prior to law school, Hilary was a White House intern and worked for the Boston Consulting Group. Aside from ACS, she is a part of the Veterans Legal Services Clinic and is involved in various journal publications. Hilary believes in the unparalleled power of food to bring people together and is known to enjoy the occasional yoga/pilates/spinning session.

Natasha Khan | Scholarship   Natasha Khan is a rising 2L at Yale Law School. She grew up in San Francisco and attended Georgetown University. Prior to law school, she worked as a Legal Analyst at The Blackstone Group for two years. She spent the summer interning at the New Jersey Attorney General’s Division on Civil Rights. In her free time, she enjoys travel and writing short stories.

Adam Kinkley | External Affairs & Special Projects   Adam is a 2L originally from Washington State. He graduated from the University of Washington in 2016 and worked as a management consultant before law school. Adam is broadly interested in antitrust, securities regulation, consumer protection, and economic justice.

Sarah Lamsifer | Membership & Community Engagement   Sarah Lamsifer is a 2L in the law school. Bethany Robinson | Membership & Community Engagement   Bethany is a 2L from Bowie, MD. In her free time you can find her playing soccer, re-watching 30 Rock for the millionth time, or listening to true crime podcasts.

Jeff Schroeder | External Affairs & Special Projects   Jeff is a 2L at the law school from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Before law school, he worked on fair housing and consumer protection issues, as well as for a congressional campaign. He spent last summer with the Senate Banking Committee in Washington, DC. Outside of ACS, he’s involved with the  Yale Law and Policy Review , the  Yale Journal on Regulation , and Yale’s mortgage foreclosure litigation clinic.
